Making Up For Monday: Book Club Hold Offs

It's time for Making Up For Monday!

This week's question: What book would you like to suggest to a book club but never have? Why?

I am a fairly conservative reader in that I am not a huge fan of swearing or sex scenes.  But I will read them if I like the story enough and if it's applicable to the story. But as conservative as I am, my book club is FAR more conservative. They prefer no swearing at all and definitely no sex scenes.  There are two books I would LOVE to discuss.

1. Shadow of the Wind:  Due to the language and two sex scenes, my book club has declinbed reading this book, but man do I love it!

2. Gone Girl: Filled with crazy amounts of language (including fan too many "c" words), I have never even bothered suggesting this as a book club book, but I need someone else to read it so I can talk about it!

Baby Shower Distraction!

My reading goals were put on hold for a couple weeks while I prepared for a baby shower for my sister in law.  She is the first in my family who will be having a boy in three years. After throwing a couple of girl showers, I was ready for a boy shower!  We went with a Lego theme.

The wind got the best of this before I could snap a picture.

The weather was gorgeous so we had the shower outside in the bright sun.  It was such a lovely day.
